SharePoint 2010 Org Chart

July 20, 2010

There’s a bunch of new Silverlight controls within SharePoint 2010 – if you haven’t seen the new ORGANIZATIONAL CHART – you should check it out.

Clicking on the left, right or top will make it scroll.

Here’s one from the Contoso demo server :

Of course, you need Active Directory to be ‘clean’ – and need to implement the User Profile Import.

Is there a way to add data into the Silverlight org chart? So far it only displays Name, Title and “About Me”. I tried checking the User Profile Properties and noticed that the checkbox if “Default Organization Profile Sub-type” is missing on some user properties. Maybe this is the cause?

A fellow blogger posted a nice easy solution recently on our blog. One of the requirements he wanted to avoid was a clean AD environment. Take a look:

Is there any way to reflect an employee who reports to 2 different managers?
